Elena Ryazanoff was born into a family of artists and intellects in Moscow. From a very young age she received formal education in the arts, culminating with a degree from the famous Sourikov Academy of Fine Arts in Moscow. In 1991, Elena came to Australia, settling in Mornington on the Mornington Peninsula. The unique techniques she employs and the imaginative way she applies these, demonstrate a raised spiritual nature, which bewitches the viewer and speaks of her exceptional abilities. Lena's pictures reflect a deeply philosophical religion. They contain representations of possession and faith, expressions of feeling and profound peace, love and hope. Standing in front of one of Elena's paintings is to experience the physical sensation of the spirit being lifted, of feeling the easy movement of the air, the caress of the sun and the promise of freedom.
